This 3rd issue of WRITING THE CIRCUS takes Ess Hödlmoser’s innovative solo contortion act, VACUUM, as the point of inquiry into topics like modern freakshow, otherness, social media, virtual voyeurism, and more through essays and creative non-fiction.

It also includes unreleased photos from the same sessions that produced the beautiful images housed within the pages of SLOW CIRCUS by photographers Denise Grant, Irem Harnak, and Paul Hillier.

WRITING THE CIRCUS is the first zine series from Strange Wonderful Creature: they are short, half-fold DIY zine (16-24 pgs) written from 2020 – 2021 and are DIY: as in, they feel and look like hand-made, hand-folded, hand-stapled zines.
